Johnny Cash's Rockabilly Path Led In a distinct Direction

#1. Johnny Cash's Rockabilly Path Led In a distinct Direction

Johnny Cash's Rockabilly Path Led In a distinct Direction

When Elvis changed all in 1954 with his recording of "That's All Right" he charted a exact path for rockabilly music. Many artists that came after Elvis followed the trail he blazed and while they each brought their own style--call them diversions from the path--they pretty much blazed ahead in the same direction that Elvis pointed them. But not Johnny Cash. The man in black may have started from the same point that Elvis did (they both got their start on Memphis' Sun Records at essentially the same time), but he didn't waste any time in proving that he wasn't going to consequent anyone's path. Instead, Cash blazed a new trail all his own.

Johnny Cash's Rockabilly Path Led In a distinct Direction

Like Elvis, Johnny Cash began recording for Sun Records at the Memphis Recording aid studios (both the studio and Sun Records were owned and run by Sam Phillips) in 1954. Cash originally wanted to report Gospel music, but Phillips recognized that (again like Elvis) he had something special in Johnny Cash and steered him toward Rockabilly.

But Johnny, while he did report some superior rockabilly tunes, was all the time drawn much more powerfully toward country than Elvis was. So, while Elvis set off to originate rock and roll, Johnny headed off to redefine country music.

Johnny's early Sun recordings are like Elvis' in that they were sparsely arranged numbers featuring just Cash and his acoustic guitar, a stand-up slap bass played by Marshall Grant, and lead guitar played by Luther Perkins. But there the similarities ended. Johnny's recordings were far distinct than Elvis' and those that followed Elvis. His rockabilly numbers featured the classically understated lead guitar style that the dead-pan Perkins made famous. Perkins (no relation to rockabilly's Carl Perkins) didn't strive to bring excitement to the music the way most other rockabilly guitarists did. Instead he supplied a steady alternating bass line that speedily became Cash's signature sound.

Even in this early rockabilly, Cash never shook the country music that seemed to course through his veins and it speedily became clear that his path was genuinely going to be distinct than that of the rockers. After his first few great recordings (which met with varying degrees of success) Sun Records released what has become his signature song, "I Walk the Line" backed with the snappy "Get Rhythm" in early 1956. "I Walk the Line" sold over two million copies, peaked at #1 on the Billboard charts and stayed on the charts for nearly an entire year--an marvelous accomplishment.

The Man in Black prolonged to report for Sun for a merge more years and his successes continued, but again like Elvis, Cash became too big for the tiny Sun label to hold and he signed with Columbia in 1958. The rest is country music history.

So, while there were a lot of similarities in the early careers of Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, the differences became apparent very quickly. Elvis was an all-out rocker and has inspired untold thousands of rock musicians. Johnny on the other hand, played it more reserved and cool as he pursued his country and gospel aspirations. It's not too many people who would have been able to be thrown into the position of being a contemporary of the King of rock and roll and yet resist what must have been an titanic urge to consequent in his victorious footsteps. But Johnny Cash was just that kind of man. In his understated way, his nearnessy was every bit as superior as Elvis' and so it simply had to be that he would forge his own path in the music world. It's just other chapter in the marvelous story that rockabilly wrote.

Memphis Grizzlies - Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold

The first half of the match in the middle of Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder was in absolute inequity to what had to ensue in the second. The first half saw the Thunders raiding the Grizzlies so often that it often seemed as if only one team seemed to be playing the game. What are the Grizzlies doing? Are their point guards sleeping? Give them some Red Bull and wake them up from sleep - These nothing else but seemed to be the cat calls from the spectators.

Memphis Grizzlies - Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold

Half time whistle blown. What is going to come next? Is it going to be an annihilation of the Grizzlies? By the half time the hooter had blown for the half time, the Grizzlies were trailing by 22 points. It nothing else but is going to be a 40 whitewash, as per the spectators of the Thunders. Well, looking by the way how the Grizzlies were taking their game in the first half, a 50 point whitewash without fail does not seem out of cards.

On come players on court, and as the Thunder's fans incredible a clean massacre, quite the opposite happened. In fact, the unthinkable if one may say! The Grizzlies turned around the plate with so much ease that the Thunders did not quite know what had hit them. 1,2,3 and so on - raids on the Thunders citadel kept on increasing with alarming regularity. nothing else but by now, the Thunders knew that they were driving a car up against a monster diesel-guzzler that would roll them up into thousand bits.

When the final hooter blew, the score line read 108-102 in favor of the Grizzlies. It obviously prompted a lot of citizen to say, "Revenge is sweet when it is served cold. At least, the enemies don't quite expect it coming. And you don't even burn your mouths". That's exactly what the Grizzlies did! Obviously, something happened during the half time and the Grizzlies would not wish to reveal what transpired behind the scenes. It is anybody's guess but seems like the players swore by each other to make the Thunders bite the dust.

And did they come out with some purpose or what? A team that resembling a gang of college guys practically ending up fighting each other before half-time came out and not only put up a spicy show, but also punctured any ambitions the Thunders had about beating them.

This astounding turnaround with the Grizzlies can only be attributed to their aggressive style of play. No ways they could have made such an impression after putting up a defensive show in the first half. That they had revenge on their minds when they took to the court after half time helped matters being placed rather forcefully!

Home Prices May Decline over the Next Year

#1. Home Prices May Decline over the Next Year

Home Prices May Decline over the Next Year

As America's cheaper begins to cool, a number of economists have begun to predict only modest gains in the prices of single-family homes during the next year. The consensus is that home prices will rise between 3 and 4%, which is a respectable increase, but well below the 10% nationwide mean over the past five years.

Home Prices May Decline over the Next Year

Ironically, the biggest slowdowns are likely to take place in the areas of the country that have seen the hottest real estate markets over that five-year period, together with New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. However, the real estate price slowdown is foreseen, to reach many other parts of the country over the procedure of the next year, as well.

In an entertaining twist, a number of real estate markets that have been slow over the past five years will begin to see upturns as the affordability of their home prices begins to catch the eye of buyers unwilling to pay the rapidly rising prices they see in other areas. In fact, a number of the areas that are foreseen, to see the most rapid price rises may surprise you. For instance, five of the top ten cities are settled in Washington State, led by Wenatchee, which is foreseen, to see a 16% gain over the next year. The nation's fast-rising real estate prices are foreseen, to occur in Panama City, Florida, at 21%. Surprisingly, El Centro is the only California city listed among the top ten markets, which should raise a number of eyebrows.

Those double-digit increases are again respectable, but nowhere near the 20% mean growth for America's top ten fastest rising home prices over the past five years.

The other four Washington cities and their rates of growth are: Mount Vernon (14%), Yakima (13%), Olympia (13%), and Spokane (12%). Two other Florida cities made the top ten list: Lakeland (14%) and Ocala (13%). Rounding out the top ten was Flagstaff, Arizona (12%).

Some areas of the country that have been quite hot over the past some years may positively begin to caress price declines, such as Santa Barbara, California, which may see a 3% decrease in its mean home price. Las Vegas may also caress a similar price decline over the next year.

The slowest gaining areas of the country over the past five years have been in the Midwest and South, and especially in Ohio and Indiana, which contributed five of the slowest American real estate markets during the duration from 2001-2005. For instance, Lafayette, Indiana, averaged just 2.3% annually over that time, which represented an growth of only 10% of the gains experienced by the nation's hottest real estate markets. The largest city among the bottom ten markets was Memphis, Tennessee, according to the Census Bureau, with a population of about 700,000.

Whatever the statistics above stated, it should be pointed out that many flourishing investors make a lot of money in the those cities labeled "the bottom ten." No matter what happens in the home market, smart investors know how to make money in real estate.

All in all, real estate prices should rise somewhat, unless you happen to live in one of those areas that has been red hot since 2001, but don't expect to see the spectacular increases you've seen over the past five years.

Going to an event can be costly for any company, but many businesses think it a indispensable expense. Instead of cutting back to one event a year, think how you can cut costs and still attend these events to network and find sales leads. Following these tips can likely save your business at least 0 per event, and no one will ever comprehend that you're displaying your trade show stand on a budget.

How To Save Your business Money When Taking A Trade Show Stand To An Event

Consider A Trade Show Booth Rental Instead Of Buying One

A trade show stand is a indispensable expense, especially if you have a diminutive marketing budget. It's inherent to find fellowships that honestly allow businesses to use a trade show booth rental instead of buying a unit outright. Although it may seem like a trade show booth rental is a one-size-fits-all solution, fellowships can honestly customize these with unique graphics and less costly add-ons such as table top displays and banner stands. It's also a great way to conclude which model of trade show stand is right for your business before spending the money.

Forgo The Hotel restaurant And Snacks

Hotel restaurants and the snacks that come in a standard room are definitely convenient, but that convenience comes with a steep price tag. Instead of asking the concierge where you can eat, ask where the nearest drug store is. There you can find snacks and drinks at a much lower price than your room or the gift shop. If you're pressed for time and need to eat at the hotel restaurant, think splitting an entre with a friend or coworker and supplementing the meal with a small side salad. Your funds (and your boss) will thank you for being economical and finding out for the company's bottom line.

Ship Packages To The Hotel Instead Of The Venue

Anyone who's ever set up a trade show stand knows that it can be costly to ship their table top displays and other items directly to the venue, especially if the venue is in a city that has unionized events. To save some money, have your exhibits shipped directly to the hotel and take them into the venue yourself. Be sure to check if this is allowed before development any arrangements.

Consider Staying At The Hotel, Even If It's More Expensive

Oftentimes, it can be costly to stay at the hotel that's hosting an event. Because the venue is almost guaranteed to be sold out, they boost the price. While it may be tempting to save money by staying somewhere else, think staying at the venue a indispensable expense. By lodging somewhere else, you could lose out on indispensable networking time that takes place in the hotel bar, the lobby or the gardens. How many inherent customers could you lose out on if you stay off-site?

Taking a trade show stand to an event is a great way to meet inherent clients and join together supplementary with existing clients. Although they can be expensive, using these tips can help lessen the financial strain.

Great beginning Ideas For the New Real Estate Investor

Great beginning Ideas For the New Real Estate Investor

In his interview with me, John Paul Moses, who is the founder of our Local Memphis Investors Group, was willing to give us some tips about how to start as a real estate investor. After reading "Rich Dad, Poor Dead" by Robert Kiyosaki he decided to start as a real estate investor. The book says to do this you need some preparation, so he went to the Internet and stocked every bit of data from the articles, news groups and discussion forums. By that time he started a long term friendship with Matt Scott who runs a great website called dealmakerscafe.com. That's how he learned the meaning of the word "escrow" and what the disagreement was in the middle of a mortgage and a trust and real estate basic terminology. The Internet might be one learning ground. If you buy a real estate policy you have to be very careful. The first policy John Paul bought was in his conception the worst real estate policy and never did a deal from knowledge gained in that course. But at least he learned real estate terminology and spending 0 on that policy proved to him that he was willing to invest in his education.

Great beginning Ideas For the New Real Estate Investor

John Paul started by making an proclamation in a Sunday paper just saying "real estate investors group starting, for data give me a call" and he put a cell phone number there for population to caress him. At their first meeting they were about 16 people. He stood in front of those population telling them that he never done a real estate deal but he was there to learn and make sure that they had those meetings. They needed a leader and he took the initiative of being their 1st president. Since then the assosication grew to over 500 members. Now they are a full fledged non behalf real estate investors association with over 150 members in the Memphis area and since 2002 John Paul has been a real estate investing guy. He stepped down as the president and he is now serving as the menagerial director of the group. Most of the deals he has done in some way involve somebody from the real estate investors association, whether they were a buyer or a seller, money partner or whatever the case might be. Start working with population in your club because they are real people. You need to think who the buyers are if they have real cash or if they have way to the hard money. So, what you have to do is to pick only those motivated persons and build yourself a great network of thriving population to work with and the investor groups are great places to find those people.

His guidance for somebody who's looking for the structure of an venture group in other city is that you need to join the national real estate venture association; you need to get small groups of population together and join the National Reia (www.nationalreia.com ). They serve as an umbrella assosication that supports the local Reia group. other benefit of these groups is the availability of hard money lenders or private lenders within the group itself. You need to know what your resources are and just capitalize the costs or hard or private money in that part of the deal. For example they visited the National Group and invited some of their board members to have evening meal together. That's the second thing John Paul recommends for everybody who wants to start a group: model yourself, don't try to shape out on your own!

Another thing a man should do is get those magnetic We Buy Houses signs for their vehicle. For John Paul they were worth the venture as they brought him ,000 behalf from transactions altogether on wholesale deals. Nobody should be embarrassed of using them on their cars because the one who's embarrassed is letting money pass by.

John Paul's piece of guidance for the new real estate investor is to not to be afraid to act, do not let yourself come to be paralyzed by fear and over-analysis. You need to take some time so don't panic. Give yourself six months and just consume information. A good way is to listen to tele-seminars or find data on the Internet or pick some books from the library.

Ness Notes (Jan 26)

The biggest news coming out of last night's busy 12-game Nba agenda was that yes, Ron Artest was going to the Sacramento Kings for Peja Stojakovic. Here's hoping the Maloof brothers don't get rid of The Palms Hotel anytime soon!

Ness Notes (Jan 26)

As for on court action, the Pistons needed Ot but their 106-102 win over the Bucks give them a 35-5 record, production it the fourth-best 40-game start in Nba history.

The Suns beat the Heat 11-93 in Phoenix back on January 6, scoring 47 points in the first quarter! Shaq was held to a season-low eight points in that contest and these days, must feel like he's still playing for the Lakers. Tonight's game marks Miami's 12th consecutive contest against a Western opponent. Miami is 7-4 Su and Ats in the first 11. The Heat are favored by 5 1/2 points tonight with a total of 211 1/2.

Dallas is favored by 5 1/2 points with a total of 210 1/2.

No. 9 West Va entered the Ap poll at No. 9 on Monday, the school's first visit to the top-10 in 24 years. The Mountaineers stay won't last long, as they were beaten at home last night (58-52), by a Marshall team that entered the game with a 7-9 record. The loss ended West Va's 12-game winning streak, which was the nation's longest.

Illinois unmistakably beat Minnesota last night 77-53, and captured its 32nd level home win (a new school record). Gonzaga also has 32 level home wins but both top-10 schools trail Southern Illinois, which owns the nation's longest current home winning streak at 33 straight.

For those of you who may not have gotten the late scores, two schools from the Mountain West argument are worthy of mention. Air Force, a school on its Third coach in three seasons, has opened 17-3 after beating Unlv last night (52-50).

Former Nugget head coach Jeff Bzdelik has done a great job. Especially when you consider last year's Mwc co-player of the year (6-10 center Nick Welch), was lost to an injury, prior to the start of the season. Last night, the Falcons overcame an 11-point first half deficit and ended the game on a 14-5 closing-run!

Everyone remembers Steve Fisher's dramatic run to the national title with Michigan back in 1989. Well these days, Fisher is living the good life in San Diego. However, in his seventh year at San Diego State, Fisher has the Aztecs off to their best start (13-6) in more than 20 years and their best argument start (6-1) in more than 30 years!

The Aztecs beat New Mexico last night 75-69 (a non-cover that hurt me!) but Fisher's team deserves kudos for its great start. In guard Brandon Heath (17.9 Ppg) and send Marcus Slaughter (16.6-10.6 Rpg), the Aztecs own the league's most dynamic inside-outside combo.

Tonight at 7:00 Et on Espn, No. 2 Duke plays its first game since it lost to Georgetown on Sunday (ending a 17-0 start). All three of the nation's remaining unbeatens lost last Saturday and Duke will try and match Pittsburgh's effort, which beat Syracuse 80-67 on Monday, not Florida's, which lost last night at South Carolina 68-62, when the Blue Devils visit Blacksburg.

Duke escaped versus Va Tech in its first meeting against the Hokies (12/4), winning 75-74 on a 40-foot shot by Sean Dockery at the buzzer. Va Tech enters this game 0-5 in the Acc but the five losses have come by just a combined 25 points. Duke is favored by 11 points and the total is 141.

The only other game on national Tv tonight in college basketball's 36-game 'board' schedule, is a Sun Belt game, La-Lafayette at Western Kentucky. At 9:00 Et on Espn2, the Hilltoppers, 13-5 along with a league-best 5-1 argument mark, host the Rajun' Cajuns, who are just 5-12 and own the worst argument mark of any of the Sun Belt's 11 teams (1-5). Western Ky is favored by 11 points with a total of 142 1/2.

In a game not on Tv but Not to be missed, No. 3 Memphis hosts 14-3 Uab at 8:00 Et. The Tigers are off to the second-best start in school history but are unmistakably seeing up at the Blazers in the C-Usa standings. Uab is at 4-0 in league play, while Memphis is 3-0. With West Va's loss last night, Uab's 10-game winning streak is the nation's longest. Memphis is favored by 10 with a total of 154.

Will transfer Windows advantage You?

Replacement windows offer a new look on the outdoors quite literally. For those who have older homes, this type of upgrade can cut energy costs and help to give the home a great look. However, it is not all the time indispensable to take this step. In fact, in many situations, it is a better idea, and a more cost effective solution, just to make repairs. Before you make the commitment to spend in a new window or a new set of them, think the benefits of doing so.

Will transfer Windows advantage You?

Energy Efficiency

One of the biggest reasons to spend in replacement windows is when you are paying far too much to heat or cool the outdoors. If your current window is leaking even a small estimate of air, this indicates a indispensable energy loss over time. In many cases, caulking or filling in those holes just does not improve the whole heat or air conditioning loss enough. One drafty window could mean a indispensable loss of energy.

It is a good idea to replace them when you feel or observation drafts occurring. It is also a good idea to replace them if they are older. Replacing those from eight to ten years ago could cut your energy bills very significantly, in fact. This is especially true when you spend in energy effective systems.

Value Added

Another presuppose to think replacement windows is to boost the value of the home. Habitancy observation them as one of the first things they see when approaching the home. That and the fact that they can cut energy costs make them a indispensable venture in virtually any situation. In some situations, such as older homes, the venture in a new window system for the whole home can help to add a indispensable estimate of value to the home, even at 100 percent of its cost in some situations. When investing in windows, which no longer need painting it is very true.

Improved Function

In some homes, the windowpane is not a qoute but how it operates is. In situations where there is a large break or where the pane does not open properly, repairs may not be cost effective. It is inherent just to replace one window if you need to do so. However, to make your life a bit easier, think investing in new ones throughout the home. This can make it easier to open and close them, as well as clean them.

Replacement windows are often a good investment. If you can heal the damage easily, it may not be a cost effective choice to replace them all. However, in any of the above situations, it makes sense to think the venture as it will pay you back repeatedly.

5 Ways to originate accurate Expectations When Hiring a Live Music Band For Your Wedding Reception

#1. 5 Ways to originate accurate Expectations When Hiring a Live Music Band For Your Wedding Reception

5 Ways to originate accurate Expectations When Hiring a Live Music Band For Your Wedding Reception

I have spent years managing and booking bands that play wedding receptions. Over the years working with hundreds of brides, I have come to learn that the most necessary component of a thriving wedding reception is establishing spoton expectations for the band and the buyer early in the process. Surprises are never good and can approximately always be avoided. Here are the top five ways to make sure that expectations are appropriately set.

5 Ways to originate accurate Expectations When Hiring a Live Music Band For Your Wedding Reception

Work with the band directly.

Bands can be booked directly or straight through a so-called booking agent. When it comes to wedding bands, rarely does the agent describe the band. More likely, the "agent" brokers a deal between the buyer and the band. This is not to say that a good agent isn't helpful, but it means that they are not a part of the band's organization. Whether you book the band directly or straight through a booking agent, it is necessary that you form a association with the band's touch person. That person is most likely a band leader or a manager.

Why is this important? We all know the "telephone game" where one person whispers something to the person next to him who whispers to the next person and so on. By the time the message gets to the end, it has thoroughly changed. Removing the middle man removes the risk of the message changing by the time it gets to the intended recipient.

The other risk of not communicating directly with the band is that the message naturally never makes it to the band. I once had a situation dealing with a reputable agency where the mom of the bride requested the band play a number of songs. The request was sent to the agent who never forwarded it to me. I only found out after the wedding reception when I contacted the mom of the bride to supervene up. Dealing directly with the band removes any possibility of messages getting warped or lost and it gives you and the band belief that you are both on the same page.

If an agent refuses to let you speak with the band directly at any time in the process, run! This is a red flag that the agent is much more concerned about controlling the transaction to protect his or her interests than he or she is about addressing your needs.

See the band live at someone else wedding reception before making the hiring decision.

There is no great way to be determined of what you are getting than seeing the band in performance at someone else wedding reception. As a band manager, I always encourage potential clients to see all the bands they are inspecting in a live execution before making their decision. I do this for two reasons. First, I can talk about what the band does until I'm blue in the face, but the fastest, easiest and most spoton way to understand it is to see it. seeing the band removes any possibility of misunderstanding or confusion. As Elvis Costello once said "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture." It's much more effective to just go look at the building. Second, if you see all the bands you are considering, you will have absolute belief in your decision - no second guessing that the band you have hired may not be good adequate or that other bands may be better.

When you go to see the bands you are considering, be sure you see them at a similar event. Every event type is distinct and each has a unique role for the band: at a bar, the job is to sell beer; at a charitable event, it is to raise money; etc. Pro bands will build distinct set lists and achieve distinct shows based on the unique demands of the single event. That is why it is important to see the band at a wedding reception. And, if you see more than one band, see them at the same point in the evening. You don't want to catch one band during the "dinner set" and the other during the final dance set. Doing that may leave you with the inaccurate impression that the "dinner set" band is a low power act when in reality they are appropriately keeping back as the circumstances dictate. Whether it's type of event or timing during the evening, make sure to compare apples to apples.

Hire an experienced and established wedding planner.

I know what you are thinking: "What does hiring a wedding planner have to do with the band?" As it turns out, a lot! Wedding planners make it their firm to know vendors. Because they work wedding receptions day in and day out, they have a much great perspective on the consistency of bands and other vendors than the bride you called for a reference who worked with a vendor once. Wedding planners also have the touch to ask the right questions and raise the right issues to make sure you get what you want.

Once you have made your hires, a wedding planner can genuinely help the day run smoothly. They can make sure all the vendors aren't trying to get into the loading dock at the same time, make sure the band's electrical needs are met, coordinate other vendors with the band's performance, etc. Wedding planners are incredibly knowledgeable about how one aspect of the big day can affect other aspects and they are skilled at making sure that all vendors are aware of the issues and are working together to create a thriving event.

Hire a Pro band experienced with wedding receptions.

Whether or not you hire a wedding planner, hire a band with touch performing wedding receptions. As I mentioned above, all events are distinct and need distinct skills of the band. An experienced and Pro band will not only know how to buildings the show, but also will alert you to issues that need to be considered. For example, your decision to have a buffet versus a plated evening meal will affect the buildings of the evening meal set. What are the pros and cons of starting the evening with the first dance? When should you schedule the cake cutting? Once the evening meal has been served, it is the band that essentially runs the show. Because of that, experienced bands are in a unique position to raise potential issues ahead of time so that they do not become problems at the time.

Communicate commonly with the band.

It is important to keep the band in the loop with all developments. If you want the band to make announcements, let them know as far in enlarge as potential what those announcements will be and when you want them made. With the few super Pro bands that have no break between songs, it can be difficult, though not impossible, to make unscheduled announcements unless the band knows to expect unscheduled announcements. If you are inspecting making changes to the schedule, let the band know as early as potential and preferably before the decision is made. This will allow the band to raise any issues that you may not have plan of that may affect your decision. Of course, once a convert is made, make sure the band knows as soon as possible. Changing a evening meal set to a dance set, for example, will need the rearranging of the set lists for the whole evening and is not the kind of thing that you want to spring on the band at the last minute.

Following these guidelines should create suitable and reasonable expectations for every person complicated and ensure a smooth reception.

Del Potro Is Back!

#1. Del Potro Is Back!

Del Potro Is Back!

But when can you say that a player is back? When you see a player hitting forehand winners with the most fearsome whomp when the ball hits a set of strings and goes right towards the projection while the opponent just stares at it, that player is undoubtedly back. That is what del Potro has being doing since the start of this tournament, especially on his last match against "the Dog." His belief is definitively expanding as he wins more matches.

Del Potro Is Back!

"I'm playing much better," said the Argentine. "I have improved my forehand, my serve, my corporeal condition, everything. It's easier when you win a match. You can heighten very fast if you still play (in tournaments) and are still winning."

Del Potro, who reached successive semi-finals in San Jose and Memphis before winning the Delray Beach title, said he had stayed outpatient throughout his injury comeback.

"I'm very calm with my level," added the Argentine after his second round match against Ljubicic, who recovered from 484th in the rankings to 90th in just three weeks. "I know that it's a long road to be at the top again, but I'm working.

If del Potro continues hitting consistently with his Wilson Blx Pro Tour Racquet, he won't just be back, but he'll be winning major tournaments again. When healthy, he is a top-five level player who is able of beating about whatever when on his game. With Roger Federer's struggling to yield the magic he is known for with his Wilson Six.One Tour Blx Racket, here is a player who can authentically throw his name into the mix with Novak Djokovic in competitive for Grand Slams - he has one already.

"I have the game - if I'm healthy. I need time to improve, to work hard. Maybe in a combine of months, maybe next year, I will be ready to play against all of the top players."

So far he has won seven titles on the Atp World Tour, together with the 2009 U.S. Open. With Robin Soderling lost to Philipp Kohlschreiber, it seems more than likely that the 6 ft 6 big server will collide with Rafael Nadal in the semi finals of the competition. Although the Spaniard came out on top last time the two met at Indian Wells in 2009, Nadal has been less than excellent as of late and will hope that he can dominate as usual with his Babolat AeroPro Drive Tennis Racket. It should be noted that del Potro has defeated the World number 1 in three other meetings of the same year: at the Miami Masters, the Montreal Masters and, who can forget, the semi-finals of the Us Open.

Leadership For Innovation

#1. Leadership For Innovation

Leadership For Innovation

The success of any business today is reliant on not only outstanding products and services, innovative marketing, well-oiled sales channels and flawless, customer-focused operations. These are not optional; rather they are significant elements for business success. But what makes the variation between future industry leaders and those back in the pack? Innovation. Leading for innovation is significant for success today, tomorrow and in the years ahead.

Leadership For Innovation

Engage all employees and their ideas.

Even though associates have been espousing this idea since the invention of the "suggestion box" few associates actually take this principle seriously or use it effectively. There need to be easy ways for all employees (plus suppliers and customers) to supply ideas. The ideas need to be reviewed in a timely manner and feedback needs to be provided to those who supply the ideas. This cannot be a short term "program" or task but an on-going process which become part of the way of doing business.

Continuous planning.

Strategic and business planning are central to any productive corporation, business or other organization. Unfortunately, many get caught up in the process (annual) rather than using it as an on-going occasion for bubbling up new ideas and integrating them into the short and long term goods and financial plans for the business. Planning should not just be about products, sales, revenue, costs and expense by period, but rather it should be about monetizing ideas and place resources against those ideas which are going to create the most sales and create the most efficiencies.

Rewarding risk taking while rewarding success.

Many associates have recognition programs from trophies, to certificates to financial incentives for contributions to the success of the business. Frankly, the type of award, recompense or recognition is less Leading than the fact that it is done. associates are quick to award sales success for closing the big deal and exceeding revenue quota. It is equally Leading for associates to find ways to recompense the contribution of ideas to the front-end of the process. The ideas which evolve into new products, services and improved operations must effect in recognition for the individuals and teams who contribute them.

Challenge how it's done today.

Now matter how anyone is done today it can be done better - either faster, with less costs, with more quality, with greater revenue contribution or in other ways better accomplish to goals and objectives of the business - not matter how lively they may appear.

Making transportation easy.

The most innovative associates present often and easily. They present from above. They present across. They encourage their customers and suppliers to present about what is working and more importantly what is not working. And they make it easy to present from the trenches to the top. either face-to-face, by e-mail, blogs, letters, Im, telephone or other means, communications is significant to innovation. But it only begins with receiving the message regardless of the means of communication.

More bottoms up than top down.

Innovative associates are not driven from the top down. They are driven by their customers and those front line employees who deal with the customers day-to-day. While R&D is essential, customers may express their real needs and line employees may see inefficiencies before they are ever raised straight through a formal scientific process or formal efficiency task force produce their reports.

Time is the enemy.

When fighting a war, every singular day counts. This has fact has been recognized by warrior-generals going back to the earliest conflicts and persisting on to high tech battlefields. The same holds true in business. The longer an idea for a new goods or aid or a process improvement is analyzed by working and leadership committees, the less likely they will supply a positive, contentious business impact. Once an idea or hint has been submitted - especially by customer or a front-line employee, the clock is ticking. A timely evaluation, amelioration and implementation process is needed to insure they are screened and action is taken while the idea still has its "punch".

Global ideas.

The best ideas do not come from your town. Or your state. Or even your country. There is a whole world go great ideas out there. Tap into them globally. Even if your business is not yet global, ideas for new products, services and better ways of doing thing can come from sources Memphis to Singapore not just the office consulation room and the corporate planning retreat.

Seniority agnostic.

New employees, either fresh from college or from someone else manager are a great source of innovation (we are not recommending stealing possession data or intellectual property). And at the same time, employees who have performed the same function year-after-years may be discounted as not have an original idea. Nonsense! New employees, long tenure employees and all in between need to be free to offer up ideas and recommendations. And all ideas and recommendations need to be taken equally seriously regardless of the source.

By applying all of these concepts, any corporation, business or other society can thrive. There is no such thing as too many ideas or too much innovation. The business imperative is to create a culture built on ideas and to vet the implement those ideas with velocity. Not every idea will be successful. But may will and that will make all the variation in the marketplace.

Mummified Cats: Everlasting Pets Of The Pharaohs

#1. Mummified Cats: Everlasting Pets Of The Pharaohs

Mummified Cats: Everlasting Pets Of The Pharaohs

Animals have been part of the Egyptian household and when they died, they looked after their pets as well. Instead of dumping them in a ditch, they also believed the pets would touch the after life. For this, they needed their bodies just like the Pharaoh. They were mummified and laid to rest with the Queen or King.

Mummified Cats: Everlasting Pets Of The Pharaohs

Mummified Cats

Animal mummies discovered in Egypt hold arresting clues to life and death in old Egypt. Then in 1888 and Egyptian farmer discovered a mass grave. It was soon apparent that there were not humans in the grave but mummified cats. Near the hamlet of Istabl Antar, mummified cats were discovered in thinkable, numbers. Thousand of them.

Pets

These mummies of the cats were mostly turned into fertilizer, a few were sold to tourists and the remainder of the treasure found its way to the Cairo museum. Today this animal range is one of the most favorite exhibits in the treasure-filled museum. The fact that we know the Pharaohs had pets make them human while scientist can study these animals, x-ray them and take strict measurement.

Other animals

In the Cairo museum, you can see more than cats. You can see shrews in boxes of carved limestone, rams in beaded casings, gazelles, crocodiles, hawks and fish.

The scarab beetles with some dung tell us more about these creatures than books could have told us. Most of the animals were buried with a prayer.

The Nile itself starts in mid - Africa and all along the river; sites are discovered with mummified animals. Some of these places were connected with gods and we find symbolic animals such as bulls, dogs, horses, monkeys and cats mummified. The Ibis mummies obviously represented the god Thoth while Falcons represented the god hours. Dogs had ties to the god Anubis. In the city of Memphis they discovered what is referred to as an embalming house. Here the Apis bulls lay in natron on a immense stone bed where the sun could help disinfect the animal. These stone structures can still be seen near the hamlet of Mit Rahina.

As a pet for a Pharaoh, a dog or cat would have been spoiled rotten. This earthly life would not end but the Pharaoh would take his pets with him. When the Pharaoh or the pet died, the pet was interred in a specially prepared tomb in the Valley of the Kings.

While many of these mummies were destroyed or pulped as fertilizer, a range of mummified animals can still be seen in the Cairo museum today.

A divulge Of The Zany Stories You Never Heard About

The Year That Wasn't

It's no inexpressive that the hard-working "journalists" in today's American media are the world's most approved - providing, of course, that we're talking about dissemination of the progressive political agenda. Journalism, as such, is now below the mainstream media and has been outsourced to knuckleheads like me.

So here's a look back at some zany highlights from 2011 - stories you never heard, and which, agreeing to the media and the government, never well happened.

January - President Obama stubs his toe on a bureau in a West Wing hallway. He blames his predecessor, of course, claiming no one could've known how badly things had been left (including furniture).

February - Global warming causes a huge snow storm that shuts down the east coast. The whole government is stuck at the airport and doesn't get back to work until June.

March - With the government unable to intervene, the economy recovers somewhat, from "abysmal" to "wrecked-up pretty good."

April - President Obama fluffs a bunker shot, leaving the ball in the trap, and pointing out that George W. Bush had messed golf up so badly nobody can play it.

May - Navy Seals finally track down Osama Bin Laden. They bow and apologize to him on profit of the current administration, then shoot him on profit of the previous one.

June - The Arab Spring is in full bloom. The Muslim Brotherhood takes over large swaths of the Middle East, vowing that they will ensure Obama carries Algeria, Libya, Egypt, and Syria in 2012.

July - President Obama's Bastille Day celebration is wrecked when the first lady dresses him down for leaving the cap off the toothpaste. Official inexpressive assistance investigation concludes the culprit was well Bush, or maybe a global conspiracy.

August - Speaking of caps, Congress and the White House assault a deal to eliminate the debt ceiling and replace it with acoustic drop-down tiles with recessed lighting. Zero jobs are created; no one dares start or run a business.

September - In the 37th radical transformation of 2011, "Win The Future" becomes "Pass This Bill Now." Obama supporters praise the president in rallies throughout the tri-county area, and are pleased at how much easier it is to find a parking spot than it was in 2008.

October - Republicans settle on a candidate to oppose Obama in 2012: it's a used toaster they found at a carport sale in Memphis. Media downplays early polls that show the toaster with a double-digit lead.

November - The president praises "the community," for which Thanksgiving Day has all the time been celebrated.

December - Ebenezer Scrooge throws his hat in the Gop ring - media downplays early polls showing him leading the toaster by 24 points (and the president by 40). Obama blames Bush.

Again, officially, none of this well happened. But 2011 was a fun year, no doubt, and here's wishing 2012 brings more smiles to your face. It's an determination year. If you don't laugh, you'll go nuts.

Elvis Presley Had Great Karma!

#1. Elvis Presley Had Great Karma!

Elvis Presley Had Great Karma!

Elvis Presley was one of the most popular entertainers of the 20th century. Although Elvis is gone, he is absolutely not forgotten. It seems that he is just as popular in death, as in life. In fact, some would argue, that Elvis is even more popular now more than ever.

Elvis Presley Had Great Karma!

Elvis fulfilled the all American dream. He acquired fame and wealth. But while he enjoyed extreme fame and fortune, some argue that he could not enjoy the fruits of his labor. Many books have been published, and stories told from Elvis insiders that he tried to enjoy his wealth by giving to others.

Elvis plainly could not buy a new car, and take it for a spin on the road. In fact, he did try that a consolidate of times. However, whenever Elvis was seen on the road, a traffic jam would develop, as a immense estimate of habitancy would want to see him at close range.

So Elvis tried to enjoy the fruits of his labor straight through other means. He would purchase cars, jewelry, homes, and other costly items, and give them to others. It is said that Elvis once went to a new car dealer, purchased a new automobile, and asked a stranger if he liked it.

When the stranger nodded, yes, Elvis handed him the keys and told them to take it. I believe that Elvis enjoyed his wealth by sharing it with others. He would give these costly items away as gifts, and get a blessing from their reaction.

Most of the time, their reaction was tears of joy and happiness. Elvis not only got a kick out of giving gifts to others, but it became a way of life for him. I read a story where Elvis and Priscilla bought one of his employees a new home. Elvis and Priscilla showed up at Charlie Hodge's apartment and asked him and his wife to go with them somewhere.

They took them to a neighborhood in Memphis and asked them if they liked a single house. After seeing at the home, Elvis and Priscilla took them to the real estate office and proceeded to purchase the home for them. The consolidate was newly married and had a child on the way. A home that was paid for went a long way with giving them a deal with on their finances.

It is said that karma is real. If this is the case, then Elvis Presley had great karma. Elvis could not give things away, before more wealth would be accumulated for him. It seems that wealth followed Elvis in any place he went.

Perhaps it was because of his kind giving and sharing with others that helped cause him to get such great wealth himself. Can you dream what it would have been like to be at new car dealer and Elvis walk-in and hand you the keys to a new car?

It is recorded and documented, that Elvis did exactly that, more times than could be counted.

Daily Basketball Picks: 1/13/06 - Is Pau Gasol a Superstar?

Best: Nets @ Grizzlies: The Atlantic division seemed like a crop shoot after the Celtics were dismantled in the off-season. Any way it's been the Nets to emerge as the clear leader. They still need a big-man who can run like Kenyon Martin did. Krstic is a keeper but Collins can be removed. Pau Gasol should have a efficient game against the Nets. He needs more touches to elevate his status as a superstar. Improbable Score: Memphis wins in a close one 95-92

Daily Basketball Picks: 1/13/06 - Is Pau Gasol a Superstar?

Runner-up: Wizards @ Pacers: Even with roughly every person out, Indiana has still played well sufficient to win some tight games. Gilbert Arenas and Stephen Jackson play pretty much the same way and there will be about 13 3-pters attempted between them. Antawn Jamison has to score 30 for a Wizards win. Improbable Score: Indiana wins despite the scare from the Wizards 98-93

Blowout: 76ers @ Celtics: If the rivalry between these two resumes, then the blowouts might as well. Boston owned the Sixers for the entire 1950-60's. Al Jefferson has shown possible in his minimal time as a starter, but hasn't beyond doubt produced. This would be a great game for him to step up his game to a new level.Predicted Score: Boston wins 100-84

Optimizing Your Website to Show Up for Local Searches

#1. Optimizing Your Website to Show Up for Local Searches

Optimizing Your Website to Show Up for Local Searches

By now most population have figured out how to get into the maps section of major quest engines and even how to set up pay per click campaigns. The challenge is ranking organically seems to be a mystery that few small businesses can solve. The rules change so fast and unless you work for an Seo firm you are not likely to be able to keep up. The good news is that though the rules that govern most quest results are ever evolving, there are some very basic things that anything can do to show well for less contentious local quest phrases, like "plumbers in Raleigh, Nc" or "personal trainer Memphis, Tn."

Optimizing Your Website to Show Up for Local Searches

The first and most foremost thing that every site owner must do is ask himself "what would I type if I were searching for my kind of business?" Then take that phrase and make it the title tag of your home page. This nothing else but takes about ten seconds and if you don't do it you can pretty much kiss your rankings goodbye. Yes, it's that foremost and if you can't do it, get your webmaster to do it. Further, you should do the same thing for all of the pages on your website, only use dissimilar title tags and make sure they are in line with what you talk about on each corresponding page.

The next thing you want to do is start building links to your site, and if possible use a set of about 20 or so anchor text links. anything you do, don't use the same text or you risk being penalized. If you are not sure what anchor text links are then I very propose researching it. One way to build links is to ask friends that own websites to link back to your (preferably off their home page) website. You can use paid directories but try and make sure that they are relevant to your firm and don't waste time adding a link if the site makes you link back to their website. The quest engines are not that brainless and it doesn't look natural at all.

You should also write a press release from time to time talking about new stock roll outs, expansions and so forth. Of course, make sure to add a link back to your site into the press release and use lots of commerce keywords. Expect to pay at least to issue it, but it commonly gets picked up by a lot of sites so it an excellent investment.

Finally, make sure you have lots of relevant content and keywords on every page of your website. Try to add a minimum of 500 words on each page. If you work in many surrounding cities then consider using city exact content on each page. For example, if you own a cafeteria guide that covers four cities one title tag might say "Virginia Beach cafeteria Guide" and the other may say "Chesapeake Seafood Restaurants." It's also a great idea to write a125 word piece about the city and add it to the bottom of the page.

It is possible to get high rankings without any link building, but that will depend on how much competition there is and how many population know this kind of information. One thing to keep in mind, if changing the title tags and adding content doesn't get the job done the you will have to do some link building, but don't get suckered into the scam offering to build you 1,000 links for all at once. Do it naturally, and one at a time. Links act as votes and the more "quality" links you have the better. If you have a ton a junk links pointing to your website you will nothing else but lose some or all of your ranking. Regardless, failure to know the aforementioned is failure to have an internet presence.

It's not adequate anymore to just do print advertising. In fact, if you were only going to use one form of marketing there would be a strong consulation that the internet should be it. If you're not fully convinced, think about what you're doing right now.
